Created marketing plan for an international mobile phone company that incorporated the integration of content and advertisers in a strategy that had never been implemented

Dragon International Studios / Theme Park

Cardiff, Wales 

One of the Founders and shareholders of a £350,000,000 state-of-the-art movie, television studio and theme park complex being built on over 300 acres in south Wales.  Responsibilities include: Formulating business plan; Establishing strategic partnerships: Financing; Production; Distribution; Film School; Created public relations marketing campaign to the film industry in North America. Assisted in arranging $600,000,000 Letter Of Intent and created public relations and marketing campaign to bring the Studio to the attention of the most important talent and independent production companies in the film industry in North America subsequently leading to the Welsh government approval Project currently under construction.

Provided partial financing on the motion picture “The Thin Red Line” a 20th Century Fox release nominated for Best Picture in 1999.

CEO / President - SYNTHETICA TECHNOLOGIES, Inc

Richmond, CA

Negotiated and funded the acquisition as well as the operation (over $9,000,000).  Responsibilities as President/CEO included day-to-day company operations, financing, government regulatory permits and marketing.  Concluded license to Scientific Ecology Group, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse), Contract value-$68,000,000.

Responsibilities included finance, project development and marketing.  Executive produced the videos "What You Can Do to Save the Planet" with Bob Saget and "Earth Day 1990" with Jackson Browne and Kenny Loggins.  Co-created the independent television series “Wide World of Kids.”

Wrote lyrics at Motown Records for the singing group Temptations

Learned all aspects of motion picture finance, development, production, and distribution on one of the first Canadian Tax deals, filmed in Toronto, "Phobia", was directed by John Huston and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

As principal, renovated apartment buildings, converted rental apartment buildings to condominiums, developed vacant land for industrial and residential development. One of the first Chicago developers to convert vacant warehouses to commercial and residential loft space.

LICENSED REAL ESTATE SALES

Began as a licensed Real Estate salesman and learned all aspects of financing, sales, new construction, in the various markets such as commercial, residential, industrial and vacant land.  Conceived the initial plans for the finance, renovation, and development of Navy Pier (1,000,000-square foot landmark).  Worked directly with the President of the Chicago Real Estate Broad.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Mr. Sheldon’s personal interests include sailing, and golf.

Provides support for various humanitarian, environmental, animal, and children’s causes.

These projects are also designed to hire both able and disabled returning veterans.

Co-created opportunities for environmental scholarships for students from Asia at UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management.
